I gave this four stars because, to me, it's good but not great. To be sure, my expectations concerning a treatment of theodicy and the goals of this book may not coincide.I was searching for an answer to the question, why is God silent or inactive when mean people attack the innocent. Maybe a little of that near the end of the book. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed the way he weaved a study of Joseph into every chapter, and I got some great ideas from that, BUT, there are those in church who struggle with the issue of the innocent suffering and I cannot suggest this book as a resource.

One of the best books I've ever read. My husband has cancer and has suffered so greatly, this book has given us much needed wisdom which strengthens us. I will keep this book and re-read it always. Sometimes truth is hard to swallow but non the less it is truth and with that a Peace follows. Thank you Bob Russell.

There is so much pain because every action has a reaction. My 14 year old son was killed by an automobile . He was in the highway at a spot which the driver did not see in time to stop. My question, or perhaps my dilemma is 'can God's presence bring solace in the agony of the loss of my son?' And the answer for me is 'yes'. He does not ask me not to grieve, but holds me close to His heart as I grieve. This book leads me through the history of God's faithful action through thousands of years of His continual presence in both tragedy and triumph. Thank you Pastor Russell for your testimony.

We did the study based on the movie and book "Acts of God" in our men's bible study group. The analogies based on the story of Joseph hit some major struggles of trials we endure in the modern day. Highly recommend the book and the study. The movie is very moving and well worth watching.

Great book with good material for small group discussion. Lots of deep quesiton discussion and the way it uses the life of Joseph to parallel is solid! NOTE: I wouldn't use the Travelers guide with it. It is really confusing and hard to follow. .

Acts of God is a book about suffering and answers a big question: why do some things happen/why would God allow this? I would recommend watching the movie and reading this book.

Enjoyed this book thoroughly; really gave me a clear perspective on God's love for us.

Donna Stewart, Ed.D., holds the title of Professor Emeritus from The University of Southern Mississippi. The training material will hopefully give me information needed to pursue a career in Medical Transcription. I am currently studying the first book. This particular book, Forrest General Medical Center Advanced Medical Transcription Course, I have not used yet. I have done transcription before for a legal group and wanted to pursue the medical records field. The book is full of information that I will use when I begin medical transcribing.

This was a wonderful transcription study/test guide. I was taking a course that had switched books in the middle of my course so I needed this to finish -- very helpful and great transcription dictations to transcribe!! Not all easy ones...............ESL !!! very difficult!!

I like the book but had to send it back because my school sent me the same copy. If it hadn't been for that I would have kept the book. Its was used but in great shape.

It okay but lack key words in the chapters I have to look else where to look for words you use often.

This book was just as described. Perfect, like brand new condition. Not a mark on it anywhere. Cover totally intact.

Didn't come with CD, even though it was marked new.

About the Author

ROBERT FROST received degrees in psychology, biology, and physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He has studied traditional kinesiology and Neurolinguistic Programming, and is a teacher of the Alexander Technique. Since 1998 he has been active in the international College of Applied Kinesiology in Germany, creating courses combining psychology and Applied Kinesiology. The author lives in Gardnerville, Nevada.

May be a bit repetitious in parts, however, certainly a worthwhile compendium for the alternate health practitioner ! Thank you !

Here's why I like this book:1) In depth yet accessible language. In many cases, anatomical words that might be new to certain readers are described in parenthesis. Failing that, the book has a full glossary of all medical/anatomical words that appear in the text.2) Excellent description of execution of AK muscle testing procedure. It's worth noting that different forms of AK use different methods. The one used in this text is quite easy to 'feel'. However, because it involves a maximal contraction of the target muscle, it can be difficult to use on particularly sore muscle groups.3) In depth descriptions of corrective procedures used in (this form of) AK. These include some good soft tissue manipulation.4) The muscle sedation points are particularly effective for symptomatic pain reduction.5) Excellent description of therapy localization-- this can save the practitioner a lot of time.6) The only resource I'm aware of for this version of AK. There aren't many resources that are useful to the practitioner anyway, the only other complete resource I'm aware of being 'Touch For Health'. This one (AK) is quite different from that (TFH), and so makes a useful if contrasting compliment to TFH.7) Useful appendix that includes an example of a complete AK session.8) The only source I've found that deals with muscles that 'refuse' to respond to stimulus intended to reduce over facilitation (hypertonicity, both localized and systemic).9) Solid and self-contained.10) Contains some treatment modalities not contained elsewhere.There isn't really anything I dislike about the book or found incomplete.

I'm a layperson. No medical back ground, but I tend to self treat unless nothing less than RX intervention is needed. I'm enjoying the Applied Kinesiology text book. It is helping to fill in the physiology base that I lack. Very good, readable and detailed information. Would like it to include an extensive index in its next revised edition.

A good book to osteopaths and chiropractors. Interesting but a bit heavy to read, not for the "normal" public.

Applied Kinesiology,Revised Edition: A good ,solid explanation of "AK". Covers the basics well and goes in depth on some aspects particularly well.A good solid text which will serve those with appropriate training or those whose level of study is reasonably advanced. The book assumes that the reader has a good anatomy/physiology base,and that is as it should be. If you don't have that you really have no business in this study.Practitioners who,like me,have all of David Walther's Applied Kinesiology books,will find large amounts of the work repetitive.In fact the Walther publications are referred to throughout.Still, a valuable tool worthy of a place in any busy clinic.

A well objective manual for who it desires to be introduced in the Applied Kinesiology. It is good material for who is initiated in the subject, good written and with didactic illustrations. For bigger deepening, one has other books.
