This book is strictly multiple choice test questions, no explanations for students to work through on their own. The QR codes that accompany each week's questions are supposed to explain each item, but I couldn't even watch past week 1 day 1 due to the narrator incorrectly reading numbers. He uses the word 'and' when he gets to a comma which makes him sound incompetent as a math guide. It also goes so fast that a child would constantly have to back up and listen again.

I was browsing for extra practice for my 5th grader. I was looking for something different from homework from school,something challenging, something like not new separate curriculum and not too expensive.Just before i so similar but old book in our public library and viola! I found this one! The book has 2 parts. Also you can use video explanation, if you need.Each page of the book has tasks for the day and tips and 5th day of the week has an assessment. Also there is a huge assessment at the end of the book. There are answers at the end as well(relief for doubtful and busy parents).The book 1 has an multiple choice and part 2 has free response. You could choose either one or combine both parts for better result.It is good for homeschooling, with online-video explanation it covers everything. It is not easy, on some questions you have to think twice, it is good for brain storm.

About one month ago I ordered four math books published by Argo Brothers Publishing – Math 3rd Grade Common Core Workbook (Part 1 and Part 2), and Math 5th Grade Common Core Workbook (Part 1 and Part 2). Being a Math Tutor I always check different additional sources to help my students to be successful on the tests, especially based on Common Core. Usually I search Internet looking for Test Preparation information, and then compiling worksheets for different topics. It is hard work, because there is a lot of outdated information with different point of view on the same subject. I found almost everything I need in those books! Part 1 has a hundreds multiple choice questions which cover different topics, and Part 2 requires writing answers, which is much harder, and makes a student to analyze, and formulate his answer in proper way. Guessing doesn’t work! All the books are well structured based by days and weeks, which can help with the planning of studying. I started to utilize those books in my tutoring process, and I’m very happy with the result – it saves my time and effort, and I have big source of worksheets wit the answer keys in one place! I would recommend those books to parents of my students as a perfect guide to be successful on Common Core exams. I’d like to order the book Math 7th Grade Common Core Workbook (Part 1 and Part 2) in near future.

I recommend this book for practice problems and getting prepared for common core math. The layout is very convenient and organized for daily math solving problems. I am finding the book very useful in understanding concepts needed for passing the common core exam. There are problems provided for each day for 5 days a week, and answers are provided at the end of the book. A very useful feature is the "Tip of the day" which provides a sentence or two on vital concepts for solving problems. I highly recommend this book for any 5th grader who needs the extra practice to succeed.

I recommend this book (Argo Brothers Common Core Math Workbook Multiple Choice, 5th grade) for regular math practice and to help prepare for the common core tests. It provides 5-6 questions per page, which is a good amount for eveyday practice, and the contents are well-organized and easy to follow. In my opinion, you need to solve many math problems to master math and this workbook allows a lot of practice for problems that my sons are learning in school. I also bought a “Free Response” workbook also from Argo Brothers, so that they can practice different types of math problems.

I definitely recommend this book (Part I: Multiple Choice) and Part II: Free Response for daily math practice. They are well organized and provide fairly large number of exercises, which is important for successful learning. These books serve me as a very good companion for school curriculum.

My daughter is in 5th grade and advanced in math, however in project based school they either have different subject order or even omit subjects. So far we really enjoy this book, it allows my bilingual to practice written (paragraph) questions, make sure all 5th grade subjects are covered and it really shows problem areas and already mastered ones.

I use this book to tutor students in math. I like the format, where the lessons are divided weekly into five days. There are Assessment problems at the end of each week's lesson and the subsequent lessons include review from previous weeks. I'd recommend pairing this with the Free Response book, but be aware that some questions are recycled. Argo brothers did not even bother changing the numbers/diagrams on some problems.

Understanding leads to wisdom. Wisdom can be passed on but only to those who are willing to experience, master, and better themselves. Note that wisdom is the higher octave of learning, meaning that one can learn something to get by in life but still not have wisdom.The universe is run by a set of laws. The Kybalion gives us a glimpse of these.This thin book is an alchemical modern-day distillation of – NOT creating worldly riches – but of creating mental and spiritual riches: wisdom. The authors are 3 anonymous ‘Initiates’ utilizing Hermetic Principles, passed down to wise “King” Solomon (whose name means “3 lights”, and who lived from 970-931 BCE). These Principles were then later passed down through the portals of the Ancient Mystery Schools 3 ½ centuries ago. Thus, information from that time has been slowly and carefully transmitted through many generations of those who have had the burning desire to question their existence on earth and want to know how they fit into the scheme of things, among other things. Information continued to be guarded by presenting allegorical ‘stories’ and being part of ‘initiations’ of learning and then having that knowledge themselves if they are deemed wise enough to use it properly. Only then could an ‘initiate’ progress onto even higher levels of thought and activity. (Note that one organization with roots in the distant past that survives even today has a person in office named the “Thrice Illustrious Master”.)Attaining wisdom in this way, from mouth-to-ear, this information was safely spread far and wide, and ‘nuggets of truth’ were written allegorically in order to deter or confuse those who didn’t have the correct knowledge ‘base’ to understand it or misuse the information.To originally write this book in 1908, the “3 Initiates” carefully examined the allegories and replaced them with a more practical, easy-to-understand book of these previously ‘hidden” philosophies. They did this as a tip of the hat to the changing of the times in the way that people were starting to think and learn. And to save time.Hermes Trismegistus (from which the word ‘Hermetic’ derives) was ‘half god/ half man’, living in the earliest days of the oldest of the Egyptian dynasties, and then in other incarnations (one of which was Greece) he was the son of Zeus and Maia, the daughter of Atlas. By virtue of being ‘half god/ half man’, he would have knowledge that mere mortals would not have. Hermes is the font from which Hermetic Philosophy flows. He is the progenitor and author of the Hermetic Corpus, a series of sacred texts. This book, The Kybalion is a ‘distillation’ of these original books. It may be the entire Corpus or may be only part of it. And hopefully, there was no ‘loss in translation(s)’. The word ‘Kybalion’ takes the form of a Greek noun but has no meaning. However, the word could, in a hidden form, relate to the word ‘Kabballah’Note that Hermes has had even later incarnations, all dealing with wisdom and its transmission into a multitude of other cultures.Unfortunately, moving through the ages, people started perverting the wisdom knowledge base, so beginning with the Middle Ages, this knowledge went underground. Nowadays, modern-day living does not lend itself to people using complex thinking and abstractions to gain wisdom because it is faster to watch movies (the tech people are the ones who decide what something looks like and how it behaves, etc.) and because the author, publisher, and head of the company or TV station inserts his/ her views to present to the public. Therefore, most things IT are anti-Hermetic. This is one of the main problems facing mankind today: the inability to think, reason, and understand abstractions without seeing them in movies, TV.Therefore, in order to gain wisdom, turn off all things IT (except for .PDF format reading devices) and read this and other books. The authors have distilled some major nuggets/ ideas for readers to think about, so that people can evolve; they can also continue to question ideas, and during this process, continue to refine themselves. Those that can’t do this fall away because they don’t have the mental strength to persevere. These people wouldn’t understand the concepts and may even pervert them because they lack the ability to stay with something long enough to learn from and benefit from it. Note also that people who evolve become refined by the trials and tribulations that they face; the result is wisdom and enlightenment, which is earned through hard work and perseverance.The authors of this book, the keepers of this knowledge/ wisdom slowly release their information in general terms to those who are new to gaining wisdom, for them to evolve and mentally and spiritually be able to stitch together the principles that make up the Great Work from all of the major light sources of every great religion or philosophy. These ‘New Initiates’ that are ready will have started to change themselves from a rough state to a refined state, like ancient alchemy refining lead into gold. I purchased this for my man who is incarcerated. He and I are really exploring a lot of these concepts. It is well written in the aspect that the information is not easy to consume without cumulative knowledge that you have acquired overtime. Initially when I was exposed to a lot of this I considered it hocus pocus mumbo jumbo because I had been brought us Christian all my life. I'm glad that this read did not fall into my life in the very beginning because it would've fell on deaf and dumb ears.If you are not ready to receive this type of information don't waste your time. It will go right over your head as it could've been with the old me. This is meant to be taken in light of itself not comparative to other texts. The best rule of thumb is listen to all spectrums, agreeable as well as disagreeable, with an open mind. Use your God given common sense because we all have it. Then you will be receptive.This information makes sense if you will be open to it. Actually if you really look, these are the same concepts that all these self help gurus who successful people follow are feeding you. This is not a work of spirituality , but definitely sets perspectives of the deeper symmetries of physical reality.

A must for any progressing mind. The book is very thin if that anyhow is important to you. It has paper cover, so yes,it will not preserve well, but I am sure you don't buy books for their looks. If you can fully absorb 10 % of the info from the book, your life will change forever. The book is not an easy read if you are expecting a fast ride. Most people are likely not ready to approach this book thus why it clearly states in the very beginning of it that truth is spoken when you have ears ready to accept the words of wisdom. It will be good to read the book and find a practitioner hermitist since the book only have essence and does not cover topics such as WILL power. The book does give you keys to open or deepen any other knowledge, so if you are into astrology, numerology,any other occult science, you will have a tremendous insights into your studies as an extra unexpected bonus. This makes everything extremely easy to achieve, even if the time involved is lengthy.I do have some critique, however. I guess this is not so much a criticism of the book as a call for some additional development.For one, I needed some gears but simply could not bring myself to destroy a cuckoo clock to do this. I did find some gears for sale online, but they are not functional gears, so you can't really articulate them. They are just window dressing. There must be other sources for gears?I like the resourceful approach to the gauge fabrication, but the one shown looks like it is made from a bottle cap--because it is. Sorry. That contemporary icon is so ubiquitous that there is no way to disguise it to look Victorian. There were other examples of gauge casings that could be used, but this one was the primary one illustrated. It is also used with the altitude mask.And, hey, the Electro-static Hand Cannon looks like a brass lamp on a stick. Again, I don't want to be a party-pooper, but after spending all the time on the wooden grip, isn't there something less recognizable than this iconic object from my Grandma's living room? I know that brass objects are hard to find, but this just doesn't work for me.I am making the altitude mask, but am modifying it significantly. In particular, how about some hoses? To me, it just doesn't look like much except a leather bag. So, I added some hoses. Also, some sort of Victorian-style tank for an oxygen source would be welcomed. Maybe something that looks like a goat bladder or something. I couldn't come up with anything.I like the helmet cannon, but have you priced a brass cannon lately, even a little one like this? This is something prized by collectors of militaria, so is not easily obtainable at a reasonable cost.Having made these comments, however, I applaud the creativity and skill that went into this book. Thank you so much for providing this resource.

I bought this to get ready for a Steampunk event at work. We are required to make and wear costumes, and I have NO experience with Steampunk.Overall it's a good guide. It gives some background about Steampunk, history, different variations, what to do and not to do, etc. The guides themselves are as good as they can be. You get a picture of a guy wearing everything you can make, which is cool. Each project has an item and tools list as well as tips.My ONLY issue with this book is the quality of the paper and pictures. The paper is pretty thin and I worry about using this while fabricating as it's easy to tear. Most of the pictures are also out of focus and the lighting is awful. It looks like they were taken with an old cell phone camera. While you can tell what each part looks like, I feel like I'm using a free PDF version of a better book.

My impossible-to-please 14-year-old got this book for Christmas. I thought it would be something for which she would give a grunt of thanks but she is really excited about the projects in it. The projects themselves look like things she will be able to do alone after making a couple of practice products with help. (This book is definitely for teens and adults -- the projects require tools and materials that sometimes have sharp edges.)Each chapter contains all the steps for one projects (there are 12 chapters). The book also includes appendices for additional reading, patterns, and metric conversion. Each project has clear and detailed instructions with plenty of photographs for each step. If you love making things, you won't go wrong with this book.

The main characters are likeable & don't take themselves too seriously. The supporting characters are mostly new, with only a cameo appearance by a character from a previous book. The story line has a good mix of drama & rom-com to it, too. All in all, this is one you don't want to miss.

I tell you this book is amazing and take you into a idea of world domination..lol. Man vs Woman, Lion vs Wolf such an exciting match up, who do you think will win. I know you should never piss off an Alpha and in this book you will learn why.Of course no world domination story could be complete without a love story thrown in. Dali and Azai are just the perfect cute couple and you fall in love with Dali's spunk and love how she shows her Alpha to her mate. You just have to love those woman from Aurora.Of course in a PDA book you always find Gerri helping out this stubborn Alphas and this on is no different. And even though on Aurora Dalissa is considered weaker and smaller compared to the other shifters, on Earth has better sight, smell and other abilities that the Earth shifters do not.I loved this couples instant connection. They were both very strong and likeable characters.I can't wait for Remy and Jed's books.

Wow! I enjoyed all the drama, action, humor, adventure, passion, and steamy hot romance with awesome characters. As the series goes on, each book is just as great as all the previous ones. I love this series, keep them coming, and very highly recommended.

Although I have only read a sample and the first chapter of this book so far, I deeply appreciate the HUGE amount of work the authors have done. Not only have they pulled together primary and secondary reports from the earliest days of geology and paleontology, works that most of us would never have access to, they also quote extensively from these sources so we can "hear" what the early geologists and paleontologists had to say about their fossil finds, the circumstances under which they were found, and the geology of the strata in which they were found. The authors lay out not only reports on the original finds but also subsequent reports supporting or not supporting the conclusions drawn from these finds. I've been wanting to read the original reports (rather than condensed and heavily edited versions) for quite some time and didn't know how to find them. I for one thank the authors for doing this for me.

Do you like Weird Science? This book, almost 1000 pages, has a lot of it. I bought a library-released hardcover in perfect condition, and it's worth a look.There is ample evidence of a 10,000+ yr. old fairly high tech civilization before the last ice age. They had crude 'computers' (more like the very first calculators, but slower), agriculture advanced past today in some ways, significant seafaring ability, map making skill, astronomy carried to levels past Renaissance levels, and critically the ability to accurately tell time. We are just now looking at places like Gobekli Tepe. There may enough clues to solve this mystery.Then there's this book. It's a collection of way out-there stuff, such as unbreakable spheres dug out of billion year old solid rock. Fun to read, and some of it is likely even true. People tend to discount the edges, so push those edges WAY out there and look at it all. I do.

At first I thought the authors would provide an objective, scientific evaluation of archaeology findings. They punish the reader with extraneous observation by archaeologists from the 1800's and early 1900's whose ideas have been ignored by the scientific community. They then suggest how each supports their theories. Other reviewers have suggested they look for studies that support their Hindu beliefs. Recent discoveries do support humans emerging perhaps 2 million years ago but the authors wish to go back further. Frankly I'm lost in the presentation of details in this book. It is not organized well and fails to make a pragmatic logic for their views. This overwhelming presentation presents some ideas but fails to prove its theme.

I really liked this book. The information was great, but I was more impressed by the extensive amount of research done, especially since the authors clearly went out of their way to do their homework.I find that most people who dismiss this book are not because the documentation isn't sound or the conclusion isn't logical. Instead, it's because they don't like the conclusion or dismiss it out of hand because of the writers' beliefs. However, the writers address that very issue in the introduction.If you're looking for a clearly-written book resting on sound documentation relying on source material written by professional archaeologists, pick up this book. If the size intimidates you, read the condensed version, The Hidden History of the Human Race instead.

I was expecting the full Michael Cremo book but this shorter version covers enough show the crazy timelines in books trying to push Darwin ane missing many points and discoveries everyone should know about.... If you only know what they teach in school.... this is a nice brain upgrade to look beyond just that evolution theory 101. (man was around a very long time and did not climb out of the woods and build pyramids)

I found it to be a really interesting read. Within what has been found along with his theories, he does a good job giving the information that scientist on the other side of man's history have to offer. He can kind of get a little drawn out on the information, but is definitely a book worth reading.

Interesting, well documented, 800 pages long, still working my way through it.

As an engineering student that is minoring in anthropology, I actually read the whole book to get an insight into our human history. I found the book interesting and I believe one definitely has to keep an open mind as to what the truth is, pertaining to our origins. I thought the authors presented their information in an orderly manner, and the did their best to explain the logic behind their theories, which made sense to me since I had taken archeology classes. I would recommend this book to anyone trying to understand the topic from a different perspective, although it might not really be possible to get to the truth, because of the way or scientific system is set up, I believe any reasonable person can see that not all of the situations covered by the authors can simple be written off as coincidences. I actually used the book to write an essay for one of my archeology classes and got an -A- since I guess some of the topics covered could not be disproven. Overall if you have an open mind and are willing to put in the time this is a great book to read.

I have found this chart very helpful, because I have only lived in Tennessee ten weeks. My backyard is so thick with trees that often I'll only see a flash of color--I can see a bird's approximate size and its colors, but not its shape or any details. This chart narrows down what kind of bird it might be, and I can then look up the bird in my bird books and look to see if I have the correct bird once I get another glimpse of it. It can't really be used alone, as it doesn't give much detail or even a very good picture, and I've seen one or two birds already that aren't in it because they aren't common in the state, but it is very helpful for what it does do.

Excellent handy identification guide for TN birds. I work in a school and we see birds from our class windows. This is great to identify what we see.

This is a great read and filled with important information. Some other books I've come across have incorrect information and that experience had me worried about this book. Evidently, there was no need to worry. I haven't read through the breeding section yet because I'm not looking to breed, but everything I have read is factual and well written. Good source of information for any box turtle enthusiast. I greatly recommend this book to people wanting to get a box turtle, first time owners, and even experienced owners, even though a highly experienced owner may already know everything in here. I'm of the belief that it doesn't matter how much experience you have with a topic; always look for more information. You never know what else you can learn, and you may be able to help others out by correcting false information.

Thank you Tess Cook for writing this book. The information given about all aspects of having a box turtle are in this book. I have a 40 year old Box Turtle and Tubby's life is now going to be much better thanks to Tess Cook. Read the book before getting your Box Turtle. It's a long commitment and a serious one. Tess Cook is dedicated to the humane treatment and proper care of these turtles. She is even available to answer emails on her website. I have read several books on Box Turtles and no other book has offered as much information as this one. The photo's for identification are great.It is now 2018 and Tubby is still doing great. Excellent guide for providing a healthy diet, comfortable enclosures, and ideal conditions for box turtles. We rescued a couple middle-aged box turtles whom suffered from years of negligent husbandry. In addition to our herp veterinian, Tess Cook's book helped us improve their lives and overall health. I am happy to report that Martina and Heidi are thriving in their new habitat and eating a balanced diet.

This book is fantastic. The author of the book cares a great deal about the subject matter. The book is easy to navigate. The information is sufficiently detailed, yet easy to understand. The photos are good as well. I own a few box turtles and this book has been an invaluable guide. It's got information on health, feeding, and habitats as well as breeding and hibernating box turtles. This book is a pretty comprehensive guide on box turtles. I find myself referring to it from time to time.
